Gary designed a guest room manual for families to use at Ronald McDonald House. The manual explained services and programs available at the House, answered frequently asked questions, and way finding maps for the House and BC Children’s Hospital.

While contracted at the City of North Vancouver to do graphic design work, one of Gary’s tasks was to help design their seasonal rack card regarding snow preparedness. Gary helped make the communications piece engaging with the tagline “Get Ready, Get Set…” and gave the design a clean editorial look.

Providing multilingual program information to the public establishes inclusiveness and services the true diversity of communities throughout British Columbia. These are a few of the rack cards that are available for people who feel they would like to learn more about maintaining a balance in life, recognizing the signs of a gambling problem, preventing it becoming a serious issue and how to engage in the free counselling services.

While employed at Digimedia between 2000 and 2008, Gary designed many communication pieces for the agency’s clients. One of the projects involved utilizing his illustration skills to design a group of characters for Ivar’s Seafood baseball cards. Gary scanned his 8 freehand illustrations into digital format, added colour and completed the layouts for the baseball cards with exciting backgrounds and character bios on the reverse.

The versatility meant important savings for the company and created a professional environment for consulting with customers.
